Age 93, of Plum Boro, passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Brandon Haddick in 1964. She is also preceded in death by her two sons, William Fred and Ralph Vernon Haddick; Helen was the daughter of Mabel & Albro Griswold. She was born in Unity, PA, in the house where she has resided. She continued to raise her 5 children in this home, after her husband passed away. Her hearts desire was to pass away in this place she called "HOME SWEET HOME" and she was granted that wish. She is survived by one son Donald Haddick and his wife Gloria, of North Carolina and her two daughters Bonnie Maslaney and her husband Sam, of Murrysville and Gaynelle Joyce and her husband Patrick of Plum Borough; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Helen was a regular attender of Unity Community Church for 80+ years. She also served her community in many ways. She was a deacon on her church board and was a member/greeter at the Plum Senior Citizens Center. Helen had a sense of humor that lasted even into her later years. "Grizzy" will be remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Age 17, of Bentonville, Arkansas died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born October 21, 1993 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Scott David Symons and Beth Ellen Hultz Symons. Sara, a senior at Bentonville High School, was an active, bright student. A member of the golf team, and a proud supporter of "The Jungle", she was filled with school spirit. She had just been nominated to the Homecoming Court by her peers. Sara was a friend to all, and was always there to uplift the underdog. Her enjoyments in life included being surrounded by her friends and family, spending time on the lake, and cheering for her beloved Pittsburg Steelers. Just as the sunrise makes the earth feel warmth, Sara's smile made all who met her smile in turn. Her stunning smile will be remembered each time the sun rises. She will join her grandparents in heaven, and each day we will feel the warmth of her smile shining down on us. Age 92, of Unity PA, died Friday May 6, 2011 at Health South (Monroeville). He was born on Nov. 13, 1918 to the late Elmer B. Snyder and Edith (Miller) Richey, and lived his whole 92 years in Unity except for his Army service in WWII (European Theater). Russ was a hard working man building his own house, and summer home in his spare time, but still made time to hunt, fish, play golf, attend Masonic Lodge #548 in Verona and attend Church at Unity with family and friends. After retiring from Peoples Natual Gas in 1981 with 35 yrs of service Russ and his wife of 60 yrs Betty loved to travel, and go on cruises with their friends at AARP. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Simms); father, best friend and mentor to Byron and Susan Snyder; grandfather to Bryan & Jason Snyder (of Ft. Meyers FL), closest of all his granddaugher Anastasia; great-grandfather of Bryanna.
