Son of David and Marie (DeLeo) Monheim. Brother of David Monheim, Dona (Robert) Hawkins, Joann (Gary) Benoit, Harry (Janet) Monheim, Gerhard (Joyce) Monheim and Trudy (John) Lerew. Son-in-law of Muriel and the late William Kerr. Brother-in-law of Robin (Vernon) Short and Deborah (Richard) Pierce. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Andy was hired on at the Union Railroad in 1976 and worked in the maintenence of equipment department at the Hall Roundhouse in Monroeville. He entered the program for apprentice engineers in 1978. He was promoted that same year as a locomotive engineer and proudly worked in that position for 34 years. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, Division #700. Andy made many friends on the Railroad and will be sadly missed by his brothers there. He graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1973 and went on to earn Associates Degrees in Physics and Astronomy at CCAC Boyce Campus. He was pursuing a bachelors Degree in Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh before returning to work at the Railroad. Although he proudly worked for the Railroad, Andy always had an interest in pursuing astronomy. Later in life, Andy developed a passion for golf, which he enjoyed with friends and his son, David. Andy, Lydia and David were avid animal lovers and have had various beloved pets over the years. Andy loved spending time with his family, both immediate and extended, but especially with his son, David, who loves and misses him very much. On Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, age 49, of Monroeville. Survived by beloved only daughter Emmy Elizabeth Schultheis; son of Richard J. Schultheis and the late Margaret Emma Schultheis; brother of Charles E. Schultheis, Mark (Judy) Schultheis, Jack (Jacklynne) Schultheis , Susie Schultheis, Ronald (Sarah) Schultheis, Daniel Schultheis, Mary Schultheis (Rick Rullo), Steven Schultheis and the late Richard Schultheis Jr.; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ike left the area at a young age for Ocola FL. to work in thorobred horsing. After training and a lot of hard work, he obtained his training license. He traveled to Tampa Downs where he raced the thorobred he and his father owned. He was racing at all the major tracks- Tampa Downs, Gulf Stream and the Meadowlands in Atlantic City- and his family was able to travel and see him train and enter his horses. Ike decided the constant moving from state to state was not for him and he went for an adventure to Alaska to work the fishing industry with his brother Jack. That involved fishing boats, processing plants and shipping of salmon and halibut, but his heart always led him home to the family business. He returned to work with his father and he worked his way up from laborer to Vice President. Ike loved life, golfing, fishing, hunting, horses and family. He took his daughter Emmy and nieces Kate and Hannah on vacation from the time they were little girls. He was on the S & T Advisory Board of Directors and long-time golfing member at Alcoma C.C. Josephine V. Gourash, 92, of Plum, died peacefully at Villa de Marillac Vincention Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. She was born on March 27, 1916, daughter of the late William and Anna Schultz. She married Andrew A. Gourash on September 3, 1944. She was a long time active member of St. John the Baptist Parish and the Christian Mothers. She was a member of the Third Order of Mount Carmel. She is survived by her older brother Leon Schultz living at Seneca Hills Village and three sons, Andrew Waldner-Gourash (Kathy) of Altidena, CA, William Gourash (Linda) of Point Breeze and their two daughters, Theresa Gourash and Catherine Gourash and Raymond Gourash of Lima Ohio.
